People made fun of me for liking the Baby Shark song as 25 year old with no children but let me tell you, that song comes in handy when you are surrounded by as many children like I was this past trip to Chicago. I did far more family shoots this time around than any other time and I loved it. My husband may laugh at me when I do the dance in our kitchen but hey, it helps when you need a toddler to laugh during a shoot!
I love that parents will collaborate with me to do anything to make sure their kids have a good time during a shoot. These are the kinds of photos and memories I know will be cherished many years down the line when their children are older and want to look back at oldies. I also know it makes for good entertainment for the people walking by when we’re twirling in circles or making silly faces haha.
I met Amy several years ago through my brother and it was wonderful getting to reconnect with her and getting to know her family. Amy and Jason’s family shoot was my first one of the trip and I am glad I started out with them because they really set the mood for the rest of my sessions. They are both definitely raising some awesome kiddos, for real (despite the fact that the phrase “we are great parents” was said multiple timed sarcastically (examples not included lol) but they really are). Ellie and Gavin are so loved and beautiful and they are all so fun to be around, I hope you enjoy going through these photos as much as I did!
