Morton Arboretum Adventure
The day started off at the beautiful Morton Arboretum full of warmth, sunshine, and lots and LOTS of bugs haha. Totally unexpected given that the weather has been absolute GARBAGE lately, however, the mix of dark and light greens, the different textures and shades around, made for some amazing photos (that and the attractive couple that Ashley and Zach make up lol)
Despite getting bitten in literally every surface of our bodies, we had so much fun walking around and Ashley and Zach were MORE than willing to do all of the crazy and silly things I asked them to which made for an even better shoot.
What I loved most about them was their willingness to be silly in such a way that I KNOW that is honestly how they would interact with each other whether I was there or not. It speaks volumes about the level of comfort and love that they have for each other when they can be totally and completely themselves. You just KNOW that this is a couple that is truly set on living life to its fullest, no matter what.
Gilson Beach Adventure
Once we’d had enough of getting completely destroyed by biting flies, we headed over to Gilson Beach in Wilmette, about 45 minutes Northeast of Morton Arboretum where we could finish off the evening with some fun in the what we hoped would be the sun but turned out to actually be cloudy as heck with zero chance of a pretty sunset and the highest tide I’ve ever seen at Gilson Beach but it was totally fine because the pictures came out AMAZING regardless! We still had so much fun romping around and definitely had to include some bloopers from the sesh along with the more serious ones. From falling in the sand in the most ridiculous way possible to learning how to longboard on sandy sidewalks, I couldn’t have asked for a better engagement shoot and cannot WAIT to shoot their adventurous elopement at Glacier National Park in Montana next summer!!
